Naturopathic and Anthroposophic Therapies

Dr. Allison Givens, ND is an Anthroposophic Naturopathic Physician.

Naturopathic medicine is a fully accredited field of medicine equivalent to the level of a medical doctor (MD), and licensed in many states in the US, and in countries around the world. Naturopathic doctors are primary care physicians whose modalities include those of the medical standard of care, and extend into what most Naturopaths rely upon primarily: natural cures. These cures include botanicals, hydrotherapy, natural manipulation therapy (similar to Chiropractic), homeopathy, nutrition, minor surgery, supplements, and much more. Naturopaths are well trained in a diverse set of modalities that are unified by the philosophy of naturopathic medicine aimed at treating the cause.

Anthroposophic therapies are practical extensions of medicine inspired by spiritual science and the work of Dr. Rudolf Steiner. Taking western medicine as its starting place, it reaches into the full extent of human health involving all aspects of the human being, thus truly arriving at an understanding and treatment of the cause of illness. It utilizes natural remedies and diverse, ever-developing therapies founded upon a deep understanding of the human being and the human relationship to the earth, the cosmos, and one’s own destiny. Treatments involve homeopathic remedies that have been specially prepared, as well as specific hydrotherapies, oils and creams, baths, eurythmy movement therapies, and much more.
